Untitled

She is reading incessantly these days,
She gave herself two more minutes,
coz she wanted to finish reading the second last chapter,
'No it’s about to finish, I won’t let that happen’.
…she started thinking aloud.

Flipped to page 38 in a fraction of seconds,
“…she reached for it automatically,
As if reading were the singular and obvious first task of the day”
She started reading…
She could see herself in the book,
Almost as if, it’s her emotions put into words
Words, Alas! She has always been bad with them.

She is revisiting long-forgotten chapters,
Her efforts to make peace with the past,
I could almost see it in her tiny black eyes
People and places, she is reading incessantly these days…

Trying hard to break free
She is reconsidering her choices…
They think she has gone all quiet,
But for the first time in her life, she was listening to her mind
& its otherwise silent voices…
She looks into the mirror quite often,
she is reading… reading incessantly these days.

  1. When i was a kid and reading a story book, my teachers would recommend me to revisit the old chapters from time to time, else i may infer conclusions that were base less in the first place. Towards the last chapters it becomes impervious, right before the climax
