Flashback 2015

It’s going to be another year soon. I am 26 now. 26 and wiser, they told me. This is another new year away from home. It’s 3 am in France and there is reason why I am still awake.
Like each year, I feel the need to thank some and curse some.

I’d stick to the thankyous, nevertheless.

I met a lot of lovely people over this last year.  I loved and loved more. Sometimes, I announced my love and care for people, some other times I just kept quiet and smiled, hoping the emotion is being conveyed. Sometimes, I took the phone to pour my cravings for people and places, and some other times; I simply picked up the pen.

Two years away from home have taught me a lot.

It taught me that there would be days when I would simply have to sleep without dinner because the day before I was too tired to do grocery shopping.
I learnt that some people would fake friendships and I won’t be able to figure out despite being 26 and wiser.
I found out that sometimes I’ll have to risk being vulnerable, embrace love with both hands and live in the moment.
I learnt that some people are addicted to my presence in their life, and they just can’t do without me. This feeling makes me feel good.
I also found out how important it is to let people know that I love and care.
I know now that no matter what, family comes first.
Distances taught me that some people are just not capable of holding on to relationships, and that they’ll find ways to sneak-out. They also taught me that distance is just a silly word, and deep inside we know what matters and how to make it stay.
Meeting people over a cup coffee does trigger conversations. And meeting a guy over a coffee doesn’t always mean a romantic date.
Facebook CAN help you find the best of people. It could really give you lasting friendships.
I have had a love and hate relationship with Paris but I can’t deny the fact that this city has its own charm.
I still haven’t figured out how I want my life to be, but I definitely know now, how I don’t want it to be.

Hey lovely people in my life. Please stay. I might be a bit lazy sometimes, but I value your presence.
I wish you all a year full of love, lovely people, travels, cool jobs, and most importantly peace and safety!
